About Number Connect

Number Connect is a free online number puzzle - no downloads, and no account required to play.

Clear the board by matching pairs of numbers that either add up to 10 or are identical, as long as the two are joined by a clear path: along a row, down a column, along a diagonal, or across the wrap from the end of one row to the start of the next.

Classic runs as long as you can keep going - when you run out of moves, add a new row, and any rows you didn't need multiply your final score. Daily Challenge gives everyone the same board each day: always fully clearable, no extra rows, one attempt, with its own leaderboard. Battle is best of three against another player - each round deals you both the same board and the higher score takes the round, with the board growing a row as the battle goes on.

How to Play Number Connect

Number Connect is a free online number puzzle game - no downloads, and no account required to play. Your goal is to clear the board by matching pairs of numbers that either add up to 10 or are identical. The two numbers must have a clear path between them - along a row, down a column, along a diagonal, or across the wrap from the end of one row to the start of the next.

In Classic, the board grows larger and more challenging as you progress. Use the "Add Row" button when you're stuck, but use it wisely - you only get a limited number of new rows per game, and unused rows multiply your score. Your score carries over from game to game, so the further you go, the higher you can climb. The Daily Challenge and Battle modes work differently: each deals a fixed board that's always fully clearable, with no rows to add.

Goal

Clear all numbers from the board by matching pairs. Match every number to win the round.

Matching Numbers

Click any two numbers that either add up to 10 or are identical.

Clear Path Required

The two numbers must be connected by a clear path - no other numbers can be in the way. Four path types are valid:

Same Row

All cells between them in the same row must be empty.

Same Column

All cells between them in the same column must be empty.

Diagonal

Numbers diagonally aligned - all cells along the diagonal path must be empty.

Row Wrap

The end of one row connects to the start of the next. The path from the first number to the end of its row, and from the start of the next row to the second number, must both be clear.

Scoring

Empty cells between matched numbers boost your score. The further apart, the bigger the reward.

Add Row (+)

Stuck? Tap the + button to add new matchable rows. You have 4 uses per game - unused rows multiply your final score, so use them wisely.

Difficulty

Each time you complete a board and continue, the next game starts with one more row. How far can you go?

Battle

Battle is head-to-head, best of three. Each round deals you and your opponent the exact same board - whoever scores higher on it takes the round, and the first to two rounds wins the battle. Like the Daily Challenge, a battle board is always fully clearable and there are no + rows to fall back on, so the score comes down to how much of it you find. Each round adds another row, so round three is the biggest board of the battle.

You both play the round independently, in your own time - there are no turns to wait for. Scores stay hidden until you have both finished, so you're playing the board, not chasing a number. Once you're both in, the round is decided and the next one opens for both of you.

Search for a friend by name to challenge them directly (they'll get a notification to accept), use Invite by Link to send a link anyone can claim, or Find Random Opponent to be paired with the next player looking for a battle. You can have several battles running at once. If a round sits unplayed for 24 hours it's awarded to whoever did play it, so an abandoned battle resolves itself instead of sitting open forever.
